Estimation of thiamine, riboflavin and niacin content in jute leaves

Thiamine, riboflavin and niacin are essential nutrients play vital role in oxidation-reduction reaction during energy production the living cell of body. Requirement these vitamins must be met through diet as human body cannot synthesize thiamine riboflavin. Small amount is synthesized but major requirement external diet. Jute leaves rich different minerals. Different varieties fresh jute well preserved Corchorus olitorius. L. capsularis were evaluated for thiamine, content. Powder leaf prepared drying cold (4 ̊C), oven (100 ̊C) open air (±30 then ground following preservation at -20 ̊C freezer. Thiamine content C. olitorius 3.22 – 5.84 mg/g 4.26 6.46 mg/g. both species show 1.00 1.35 Niacin was found 12.01 19.12 12.95 23.17 varieties. Preserved powder contain 0.37 0.58 thiamine. High species. shows 4.24 13.42 have 9.14 to 19.59 stable powder. 8.4 - 14.8 5.8– 8.3 niacin. There no significant difference observed regarding Drying showed effect on leaves, it reduced content, increased did not affect much comparison leaves. method Fresh
